Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Techniq AI ("Techniq AI", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Techniq AI mobile application (the "App") and our website at techniqai.app (together, the "Service").
By using the Service you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide to us
When you create an account or use the Service, you may provide:
- Account information — your email address, a username (which does not need to be your real name), and a password. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and a unique identifier from the provider.
- Onboarding answers — your throwing event (discus, shot put, hammer, javelin), experience level, training goal, training frequency, training situation, and what you find most frustrating about your current training. This helps us tailor the analysis.
- Throw videos — videos you record in the App or upload from your device library for analysis.
- Preferences — your measurement system (metric or imperial) and other in-app settings.
- Feedback — ratings on whether an analysis was helpful, and any messages you send us by email.
1.2 Information we generate about you
- Analysis results — technique scores, phase-by-phase observations, priority fixes, recommended drills, and an estimated distance potential generated for each video you submit.
- Usage data — the number of analyses you have run, your subscription status, and your activity within the App (such as the screens you visit and features you use).
1.3 Information collected automatically
- Technical data — basic device and connection information (such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, and IP address) needed to deliver the Service.
- Error and diagnostic data — if the Service crashes or encounters an error, we collect technical information about the event to help us fix bugs.
- Website analytics — when you visit our website, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor behavior. See section 4 below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the core Service — analyze your throw videos and return personalized feedback.
- Create and maintain your account, authenticate you, and keep the Service secure.
- Manage your subscription, including free trials and renewals.
- Improve the Service — for example, by understanding which features athletes use and identifying common technique patterns. When we use data for improvement, we work with aggregated or pseudonymized data wherever possible.
- Communicate with you — respond to support requests, send important account or service notices, and (only if you opt in) send product updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Legal basis (GDPR). If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing are: (a) performance of a contract with you (delivering the Service); (b) our legitimate interests (improving the Service, preventing abuse, maintaining security); (c) your consent where required (for example, marketing emails); and (d) legal obligation where applicable.
3. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Account data is kept for as long as your account is active.
- Throw videos and analyses remain in your history until you delete them or delete your account.
- Diagnostic and analytics data is kept for a limited period (typically up to 90 days for error logs) and then deleted or aggregated.
- After account deletion, we delete your personal data and uploaded videos within 30 days, except where we are required to keep specific records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
To deliver the Service we rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function and is bound by its own privacy and security commitments. We share data with the following categories of providers:
- Cloud infrastructure and storage providers — to securely host the Service and store your videos and analyses.
- AI processing providers — to analyze your throw videos and generate technique feedback.
- Authentication providers — to let you sign in with Apple or Google. Techniq AI's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Subscription and payment management providers — to handle your subscription, free trials, and renewals. Actual payment processing is done by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store; we never see your payment card details.
- Error and crash reporting providers — to detect, diagnose, and fix bugs and outages.
- Website analytics providers — to understand aggregate visitor behavior on our website (this does not apply to the mobile App).
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share your data with advertising networks. If you would like a current list of the specific sub-processors handling your data, please contact us at support@techniqai.app.
5. How Your Videos Are Used
Your throw videos are uploaded to secure cloud storage and processed by an AI service to generate your analysis. We use your videos solely to deliver your analysis and keep them in your private history. We do not publish your videos, share them with other users, or use them to train any AI models. You can delete any video from your history at any time, and we will remove it from our storage.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for stored videos, hashed passwords, and restricted internal access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Data Transfers
Techniq AI is operated from Lithuania (European Union). Some of our service providers process data in the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your data. You can also delete your account directly from within the App.
- Portability — request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Restriction or objection — ask us to limit how we process your data, or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Lithuania this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI).
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@techniqai.app. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies and Tracking on the Website
Our website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure aggregate visitor activity. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The mobile App does not use cookies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
